Remind My Worries
Background Story: Jesus speaks words of truth and comfort to His disciples.
Read John 14: 26-27
“But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Big Idea: When anxiety wants to overtake us, be reminded of God’s promises.
Pray with me today:
Father today when I find myself worrying about things outside my control, remind me of everything You have said. Please remind me of Your promises.
Remind me that You are here and I am never alone. “I will never leave you nor forsake you” Deuteronomy 31:6
Remind me that Your love is available and never changes. “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23
Remind me that You know my past, my present, and future. Nothing is a surprise to You. “The LORD keeps watch over you as you come and go, both now and forever.” Psalms 121:8
Remind me that You are here in the middle of my mess. “Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast.” Psalms 139:7-10
Remind me that Your purposes will come to pass. “The LORD Almighty has sworn, “Surely, as I have planned, so it will be, and as I have purposed, so it will happen.” Isaiah 14:24
Remind me that nothing is beyond You. “I am the LORD, the God of all mankind. Is anything too hard for me?” Jeremiah 32:27
Remind me that Your peace is available now at this moment as I call to You. “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” John 14:27
Thank you Lord!
