Uncomplicated

Read Hebrews 10:10-22

For God’s will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time.

11 Under the old covenant, the priest stands and ministers before the altar day after day, offering the same sacrifices again and again, which can never take away sins. 12 But our High Priest offered himself to God as a single sacrifice for sins, good for all time. Then he sat down in the place of honor at God’s right hand. 13 There he waits until his enemies are humbled and made a footstool under his feet. 14 For by that one offering he forever made perfect those who are being made holy.

15 And the Holy Spirit also testifies that this is so. For he says,

16 “This is the new covenant I will make
with my people on that day, says the Lord:
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”

17 Then he says,

“I will never again remember
    their sins and lawless deeds.”

18 And when sins have been forgiven, there is no need to offer any more sacrifices.

19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. 21 And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s house, 22 let us go right into the presence of God with sincere hearts fully trusting him. For our guilty consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.

Big Idea: Above all, seek to know God more each day.

Often we overcomplicate the Christian walk.

God simply wants us to want Him. To love Him most. To desire Him above all things. To seek Him first. To be enraptured and in love with Him, so that our heart’s greatest desire is to be in His presence.

We get focused on processes and programs. We desire to change and become more like Him. We want to overcome sin. To get victory from bitterness and things from our past. We long to move in our gifts and talents to make Him known. We want to see revival. We want to see great things happen in the local and global Church.

But the TRUTH is simple. If each believer daily seeks His face with a hunger to KNOW HIM- all else will be accomplished. You do not change through your own power to become more like Jesus. You cannot make Him known and manufacture revival through programs. It isn’t about you! So, what can you do?

You can seek Him daily. You can daily surrender to His will. You can daily obey the leading of the Holy Spirit. SEEK, SURRENDER, and OBEDIENCE. That is the daily life of the follower of Christ. Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.” (Luke 9:23)

As we live a daily God-centered, God-pursuing, God-focused, God-leaning, God-longing, God-purposed LIFE, the Holy Spirit changes us to become more like Him. We begin to see freedom from sin and victory over our past. And the Holy Spirit directs us in ways to make Him known. He births revival first in us, directing us to give, speak, serve, and respond in ways to bring God glory.

This is truth- this is the GOSPEL. Jesus saved us becoming the Lamb of God to take away our sins. But He also saved us becoming the High Priest so that we could have fellowship, direct access, and friendship with God. ALL you need- ALL the CHURCH needs- ALL the power needed is found in knowing Him.

SEEK, SURRENDER and OBEY (daily repeat)- “For from HIM and through HIM and for HIM are all things. To HIM be the glory forever! Amen.” Romans 11:36
