Oh My Soul
Read Psalm 103:1-5
Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
2 Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
3 who forgives all your sins
and heals all your diseases,
4 who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
5 who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
Big Idea: Praise alters our perspective.
I’ve dealt with times of sorrow, disappointment, depression, and loneliness. Like quick sand, we can become trapped inside our own mind. Praise is POWERFUL! Praise lifts our eyes from ourselves on to God. It scatters the enemy who is speaking lies into our ears. It sparks faith within our heart that God is still in control. It is a powerful tool for the believer to break chains and refocus our hearts back to our Father. Today, take time to praise the Lord and speak these powerful truths and watch as faith bubbles and rises up within you.
We praise You for Your patience and that You never fail!
“When my heart was grieved and my spirit embittered, I was senseless and ignorant; I was a brute beast before you. Yet I am always with you; you hold me by my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will take me into glory. Whom have I in heaven but you? And earth has nothing I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:21-26
We praise You that You know everything about us and still love us extravagantly!
“O Lord, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand!” Psalm 139:1-6
We praise You that You are more than enough for everything I will face today and what comes tomorrow!
“The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need. He lets me rest in green meadows; he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths, bringing honor to his name. Even when I walk through the darkest valley, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and comfort me. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You honor me by anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings. Surely your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord forever.” Psalm 23
